Okay, so anyone in the Pacific Northwest knows that we just faced a rash of snow days that made for a wee bit of cabin fever. One of the best ways to combat cabin fever, especially when you actually can't go anywhere outside without 25 minutes worth of dressing in layers, is to bake bread. Scott and I decided to bake soft pretzels. We also made some kind of fonduesque cheese dip (you can see it in the last picture and it looks like gravy, kind of). We ate our pretzels with assorted mustards, the dip (which tasted "interesting but not bad"), and some beer brats. The only adaptation I made to the pretzel recipe was actually accidental. I put 4 tablespoons of butter instead of 2 in the dough. It didn't stop these pretzels from being very very tasty.
This recipe was adapted from this
really good recipe.
